The Igrexa de San Martiño Pinario is located on Praza da Inmaculada, just to the north of the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, in the heart of the city’s historic old town, very close to the Praza do Obradoiro and the main Camino de Santiago routes. It stands as part of the large Monasterio de San Martiño Pinario complex, facing the Praza da Inmaculada and connected to the cathedral’s northern side of the urban ensemble, near the Praza da Quintana and the Colexio de Fonseca (the university rectorate). Nearby are the cathedral and its museums, the Museo de Las Peregrinaciones, the Pazo de Raxoi city hall, and the main pilgrimage squares of Praza do Obradoiro, Praza das Praterías, and Praza da Quintana, all within a few steps in the UNESCO World Heritage centre. The surrounding area is full of historic buildings, cafés, restaurants, and the main shopping and dining streets such as Rúa do Franco, Rúa Nova, and Praza de Cervantes, making the church easy to reach on foot from the city’s main hotels, the Mercado de Abastos food market, and the main tourist and cultural sites of the compact old town.
