The Casa do Cabido. Sala de Exposicións is located on Praza das Praterías (Plaza de las Platerías), in the heart of Santiago de Compostela’s historic old town, right opposite the main staircase and western façade of the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, on the south side of the cathedral complex. It stands in the UNESCO World Heritage centre, just steps from the Praza do Obradoiro and the main entrance to the cathedral, facing the iconic horse fountain (Fuente de los Caballos) in the bustling Praza das Praterías, surrounded by the main pilgrimage and tourist routes. Nearby are the cathedral itself, the Hostal dos Reis Católicos (Parador), the Pazo de Raxoi city hall, the Praza da Quintana, the Praza da Inmaculada, and the Colexio de Fonseca (university rectorate), all within the compact historic core. The church is surrounded by the city’s main shopping and dining streets, including Rúa Nova, Rúa do Franco, and Praza de Cervantes, with the Mercado de Abastos food market and countless cafés, restaurants, and hotels also within a short walk through the atmospheric old town.
