The Palace of Fonseca (also known as the Colexio de Fonseca) is located in the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela, on Praza de Fonseca (Plaza de Fonseca), just south of the cathedral, at Rúa do Franco in the city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, north‑western Spain. It stands right in the heart of the old town, facing the cathedral’s south side and linked to the Camino de Santiago route, with the main university buildings, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Plaza del Obradoiro, and the Hostal dos Reis Católicos all within a few minutes’ walk. Nearby are also the Casa do Deán, the Fountain of the Horses (Fuente de los Caballos), the Praza das Praterías, the Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Pilgrimages, the Pazo de Raxoi (City Hall), and the lively Mercado de Abastos (food market) a short stroll away.
