Gruuthusemuseum is located at Dijver 17 in the historic heart of Bruges, Belgium, directly beside the Dijver canal and adjacent to the Church of Our Lady. Housed in a 15th-century Gothic palace once owned by nobleman Louis de Gruuthuse, it connects via an oratory window to the church's Gothic choir, just south of the Markt square. Immediate neighbors include Church of Our Lady with Michelangelo's Madonna and Child, Saint John's Hospital Museum across Mariastraat, and Groeninge Museum at Dijver 12.
