Burg Square (Burgplein) is located in the historic heart of Bruges, immediately east of the lively Grote Markt, serving as the city's original power centre on the site of a 9th-century fortress. Easily reached on foot in 10 minutes from Station Brugge or via nearby bus stops like 502817 (Dijver) and the Centrum-'t Zand car park, it forms a compact pedestrian plaza blending centuries of architecture. Framed by masterpieces like the 14th-century Gothic City Hall, Basilica of the Holy Blood with its relic chapel, Renaissance Old Civil Registry, Neo-Classicist Landhuis (former Court of Justice), and Baroque Provostry of Saint Donatian (now part of the Bishop's Palace), it captivates with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
