The Museum of Recent Art (MARe) in Bucharest is a contemporary art museum that offers a fresh perspective on Romanian visual culture. Located in the Primăverii district, the museum occupies a striking modern building designed to challenge traditional museum spaces. Its five-level structure, featuring dark brick and a transparent ground floor, creates a unique architectural presence. MARe’s collection focuses on Romanian art from the 1960s to the present, showcasing works by artists such as Ion Țuculescu, Horia Bernea, and Dan Perjovschi. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions featuring international artists, fostering a dialogue between Romanian and global contemporary art.
