Founded in 2013 by Ciprian Paleologu, Laborna Contemporary Art Gallery in Bucharest offers a distinctive approach to showcasing Romanian contemporary art. Rather than traditional exhibitions, the gallery presents monthly “BORNE” (Milestones), which document the evolving practices of artists and collectors in real time. This format emphasizes process over presentation, giving visitors a rare glimpse into the creative laboratory behind the finished work. Laborna features four dedicated spaces: two for individual artists, one for a contemporary art collector, and SCARA (The Ladder), which supports emerging talent. The gallery’s curatorial style embraces transparency and experimentation, stripping away conventional filters to reveal the raw anatomy of artistic vision.
