Stone House is one of Kutná Hora’s finest late‑Gothic town residences, a richly decorated building that reflects the wealth the city enjoyed during its silver‑mining peak. Built in the late 15th century, it stands out for its elaborate stone façade, featuring carved tracery, coats of arms, and a distinctive corner oriel window that once signalled the status of its owners. Despite later alterations, the house has preserved its medieval character remarkably well. Inside, the building forms part of the Czech Museum of Silver, offering a detailed look at everyday life in a prosperous mining town. Exhibits include original household items, guild artefacts, and reconstructions of medieval interiors that reveal how wealthy burghers lived. One of the most interesting features is the preserved Gothic hall with its ribbed vaulting, a rare example of domestic architecture from this period. The attic showcases the evolution of Kutná Hora’s urban development, supported by models, maps, and archaeological finds.
