VŠB – Technical University Planetarium is one of Ostrava’s most modern science venues, combining astronomy, technology, and immersive education. Opened in 1980 and later fully renovated, it features one of the largest digital domes in the Czech Republic, capable of projecting high‑resolution journeys through space. The planetarium is closely linked to the university’s research, making it a bridge between academic science and public discovery. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and the Planetarium are in the Poruba–Krásné Pole area of Ostrava, in a quiet green zone on the northern edge of the city.
