Ostrava Museum is located in the historic center of Ostrava, on Masaryk Square, inside the Old Town Hall building. It is easy to reach on foot from the city centre and is one of the main places to learn about the history, industry, and daily life of the Ostrava region. The museum sits in a very walkable area with several attractions nearby. Just around the square you can see the Old Town Hall, St. Wenceslas Church, and the Antonín Dvořák Theatre. A short walk away is the New City Hall with its viewing tower, one of the best viewpoints in Ostrava. If you want to continue sightseeing, Dolní Vítkovice is one of the city’s most famous industrial heritage sites and a major tourist attraction. For a fuller day out, you can also visit Silesian Ostrava Castle, which lies close to the city centre and offers exhibitions and a pleasant green setting. The nearby Ostrava walking area combines culture, architecture, and history, so the museum works well as part of a city-centre sightseeing route.
