Pyramid Gallery in York is a celebrated independent art space, established in 1982 and set within a 15th‑century building on historic Stonegate, close to York Minster. Owned and managed by Terry Brett since 1994, the gallery has built a reputation for championing British contemporary craft and fine art, showcasing the work of over 150 makers and artists at any one time. Its displays include original paintings, limited edition prints, ceramics, glass, wood, metalwork, sculpture, and distinctive handmade jewellery, with exhibitions that change regularly to highlight both established names and emerging talent. Selected in 1990 by the Crafts Council for its commitment to quality, Pyramid Gallery has remained true to its founding principle of supporting UK‑based designers and makers, while also introducing carefully chosen international pieces. Spread across two floors of a National Trust property, the gallery offers a warm, intimate setting where visitors can discover unique works of art and craft, making it a cornerstone of York’s vibrant cultural and creative scene.
