Griftpark is one of Utrecht’s most modern and vibrant green spaces, transformed from a former gasworks site into a lively urban park in 1999. Its wide lawns, ponds, and gently sloping hill create an inviting landscape for sunbathing, picnics, and relaxed strolls. The park is especially popular with families thanks to the petting zoo, playground, and the long living wall filled with plants, which adds a surprising touch of nature in the middle of the city. For young visitors, the skate park and basketball court provide energetic gathering spots, while walkers enjoy the paths that follow the course of the old Biltsche Grift stream. With its mix of recreation, greenery, and community life, Griftpark has become a beloved escape just outside the city centre, offering a refreshing balance of nature and activity in an urban setting.

Griftpark is located at Van Swindenstraat 129, 3572 KC Utrecht (also bordered by Blauwkapelseweg and Kleine Singel), in the Noordoost neighbourhood just northeast of the historic city centre. This modern urban oasis features expansive green lawns, a 220-metre living wall, ponds, playgrounds, Griftsteede petting zoo and restaurant, one of the Netherlands' largest skate parks, basketball courts and a hill with city views, perfect for picnics and relaxation. It lies near Wittevrouwen residential area with cafés, a short tram or cycle ride from the Oudegracht canal's wharves, Dom Tower and Utrecht Centraal Station, while the Merwedekanaal zone offers additional walking paths.
