Airborne at the Bridge is a powerful and intimate museum experience located directly beside Arnhem’s iconic John Frost Bridge, the focal point of the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. The exhibition overlooks the very site where British airborne forces held out during Operation Market Garden, giving the stories told inside a striking immediacy. Through personal accounts of British lieutenant John Grayburn, German commander Viktor Eberhard Gräbner, and Dutch captain Jacob Groenewoud, the museum presents the battle from multiple perspectives, highlighting courage, loss, and the human cost of war. Photographs, films, and eyewitness testimonies immerse visitors in the dramatic events that unfolded around the bridge. As an annex of the Airborne Museum, it offers free entry and serves both as a place of remembrance and an accessible introduction to one of the most significant episodes of the Second World War in the Netherlands.

This free exhibition, an annex of Airborne Museum Hartenstein, focuses on personal stories from the 1944 Battle of Arnhem.
