The Koepelkerk is one of Arnhem’s most distinctive landmarks, easily recognised by its elegant domed roof rising above Jansplein. Built between 1837 and 1838 by city architect Anthony Aytinck van Falkenstein, the church was designed as a centralised, octagonal space with a bright, open interior supported by Ionic columns. Originally a Protestant church, it later served different congregations while remaining a prominent feature of the city centre. Inside, the restored 19th‑century Naber organ and the refined Empire‑style décor highlight its historic character. Today, the Koepelkerk functions not only as a place of worship but also as a cultural venue, hosting concerts, exhibitions, and community events.
