Eusebiuskerk

About

he Eusebiuskerk is Arnhem’s most iconic landmark, a soaring Gothic church that has shaped the city’s skyline for more than five centuries. Construction began in the 15th century, and its elegant vaults, tall windows, and richly carved details reflect the ambition of a thriving medieval Arnhem. The church endured heavy damage during the Second World War, particularly in the Battle of Arnhem, but was painstakingly restored, preserving its historic character while introducing modern elements that highlight its resilience. Today, the Eusebiuskerk is both a place of heritage and a cultural destination. Visitors can explore its impressive interior, admire the ornate tomb of Duke Charles of Gelre, and ascend the panoramic glass elevators inside the tower for sweeping views over Arnhem and the Rhine. Blending history, architecture, and contemporary experience, the Eusebiuskerk stands as a powerful symbol of the city’s endurance and identity.
