Arnhems Oorlogsmuseum, commonly known as the Airborne Museum 'Hartenstein', is located at Utrechtseweg 232, 6862 AZ Oosterbeek, just outside Arnhem in the suburb of Oosterbeek, about 7 km northwest of Arnhem Centraal Station. Housed in the historic Villa Hartenstein, which served as British headquarters during the 1944 Battle of Arnhem, it sits amid green surroundings near the A12 and A50 motorways with free parking nearby. Nearby attractions include the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery just 300 metres away, burial site for over 1,700 Allied soldiers; scenic walking paths through Hartenstein Park and the Airborne Walk route; and the Airborne at the Bridge exhibition in central Arnhem about 6 km southeast across the John Frost Bridge. The café Het Rode Hert offers terrace views, while bus 352 connects directly from Arnhem station in 15 minutes.
