Sohngårdsholmparken is one of Aalborg’s most serene and picturesque green spaces, combining historic charm with rich natural beauty. Centered around the old manor Sohngårdsholm, the park was established in the mid‑20th century and is especially known for its remarkable fruit orchard, home to one of Denmark’s largest collections of crab apple trees. Gentle slopes, open meadows, and wooded areas create a varied landscape that invites peaceful walks and quiet reflection. The park’s elevated terrain offers subtle viewpoints, while its mix of cultivated gardens and more natural sections gives it a distinctive character compared to other city parks. Location

Sohngårdsholmparken is located at Borgmester Jørgensens Vej 9B–9C in eastern Aalborg, a little way from the dense city centre but still within the urban area. The park adjoins the larger protected green area known as Den Gamle Golfbane, creating an extended landscape of lawns, woodland and gentle hills on the edge of town. Nearby you will find a large playground within the park itself, and it is a short drive or bus ride from central attractions such as Aalborg Zoo, Kildeparken with the Park of Music, Nordkraft, Aalborghus Castle and the waterfront by the Limfjord.
