Korunní pevnůstka is a well‑preserved part of Olomouc’s former baroque bastion fortifications, located in the city centre near Bezručovy sady park on the edge of the historic old town. Its address is Michalská in the centre, just a short walk from the main square. The site was built from 1754 and served as a key entrance to the fortified city. Inside the Korunní pevnůstka complex is Pevnost poznání, Olomouc’s popular interactive science centre run by Palacký University, housed in a historic 19th‑century military warehouse. The same area also includes a baroque powder magazine, remains of an Empir‑era guardhouse, and large artillery laboratory buildings. Nearby you will find Bezručovy sady, a pleasant park ideal for a walk, and the Botanical Garden and Rosarium, which were once part of the fortification system. Within a 10‑minute walk you reach Horní náměstí, the main square, with the Holy Trinity Column, the Town Hall, and the famous Astronomical Clock.
