Theater am Hechtplatz is one of Zürich’s most charming small theatres, nestled just steps from the Limmat in the heart of the old town. Its distinctive façade, once part of a riverside bathhouse, gives it a playful, almost nostalgic character. Theater am Hechtplatz is located at Hechtplatz 7 in Zürich’s city center, just off the upper Limmatquai near Bellevue and the river. It is a small, well-known theatre in a very central spot, making it easy to include in a sightseeing walk through the old town and lakeside area. Because of its location, there are many attractions nearby. Visitors can walk to the Grossmünster, Fraumünster, and St. Peter churches, as well as the historic streets of Zürich’s Old Town. The Limmat riverfront, Bellevueplatz, and the promenade toward Lake Zürich are also close, so the theatre fits naturally into a day of culture and city exploration.
