The Old Market

The Old Market
About

The Old Market sits at 11a Upper Market Street in Hove, a striking redevelopment of a 19th-century market hall reborn as Brighton’s leading multi-arts venue. Since its sensitive renovation and reopening, TOM (as locals affectionately call it) has established itself just beyond the city centre as a dynamic cultural hub. Its flexible main space accommodates between 300 and 500 guests, with adaptable seating and state-of-the-art sound and lighting rigs that welcome everything from live music and cabaret to theatre premieres and contemporary dance. Beyond the central hall, TOM houses dedicated production studios, photography and art display areas, plus a fully licensed bar that pulses with DJs, late-night performances and community gatherings. Steeped in local spirit, the venue champions emerging talent alongside nationally touring acts, while its year-round calendar of festivals, film screenings and special events ensures there’s always something new to discover. Just a short walk from Hove station and well served by local buses, The Old Market invites you to experience Brighton’s creative edge in a beautifully restored heritage space.
