Phoenix Brighton

About

Phoenix Art Space, formerly known as Phoenix Brighton, is one of the city’s largest artist‑led organisations and a cornerstone of its creative community. Established as a charity in 1995, it provides over 100 affordable studios for artists alongside two public galleries that host around 15 free exhibitions each year. Located at Waterloo Place, just minutes from the city centre, Phoenix is more than a gallery—it is a thriving hub where professional practice meets public engagement. Its programme spans contemporary exhibitions, talks, family days, and workshops, ensuring that art is accessible to all ages and backgrounds. The building also houses a lively café and project spaces that support residencies, collaborations, and experimental work. With its mix of studios, galleries, and learning opportunities, Phoenix Art Space fosters a dynamic exchange between artists and audiences, making it a vital part of Brighton’s cultural landscape and a place where creativity is nurtured, shared, and celebrated.
