Aerospace Bristol

About

Aerospace Bristol, located on the historic Filton Airfield just north of the city, is a museum dedicated to over a century of aviation innovation. Opened in 2017, it tells the story of Bristol’s pioneering role in aerospace, from the earliest biplanes built by the British & Colonial Aeroplane Company to supersonic travel and beyond. The highlight of the collection is Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the last Concorde ever built and the final one to fly, now displayed in a purpose‑built hangar where visitors can step aboard and experience its iconic design. The museum’s galleries trace the evolution of flight through two world wars, the space race, and the modern jet age, with aircraft, engines, models, and interactive exhibits that bring engineering achievements to life. Housed partly in a Grade II listed First World War hangar, Aerospace Bristol also celebrates the people whose skills and vision shaped the industry, from designers and engineers to test pilots. With its mix of historic artefacts, immersive displays, and family‑friendly activities, it offers an inspiring journey through the past, present, and future of flight.
