Portlantis is Rotterdam’s newest landmark attraction, a strikingly designed visitor centre that brings the world of Europe’s largest port to life. Located at the edge of Maasvlakte, it combines futuristic architecture with immersive storytelling, offering a deep dive into the port’s role in global trade, innovation, and sustainability. Inside, visitors explore interactive exhibits that reveal how ships navigate, how goods move across continents, and how the port prepares for a climate‑resilient future. Large panoramic windows and rooftop viewpoints frame the vast industrial landscape, making the experience both educational and visually dramatic. Location

Portlantis is located on Maasvlakte 2 at Prinses Máximaweg 301, 3199 KG Maasvlakte Rotterdam, on the outer edge of the Port of Rotterdam where the dunes meet the North Sea beach. It stands at the port’s westernmost point as a striking multi-storey visitor and exhibition centre, surrounded by sand dunes, beaches, wind turbines and port infrastructure, with panoramic views over the North Sea, the artificial Maasvlakte 2 land extension and the busy container terminals and shipping lanes of Europe’s largest seaport.
