Euromast is one of Rotterdam’s most recognisable landmarks, rising above the city skyline as a symbol of ambition and modern design. Built in 1960 for the Floriade exhibition, the tower originally stood 101 metres tall, later extended to 185 metres with the addition of the Space Tower in 1970. Its observation deck offers sweeping views over the Maas, the port, and Rotterdam’s ever‑changing architecture, making it a favourite destination for both locals and visitors. The rotating Euroscoop lift provides a smooth, panoramic ascent to the top, adding a sense of spectacle to the experience. At its base, the surrounding park and waterside paths create a peaceful contrast to the tower’s height. Euromast Rotterdam is located at Parkhaven 20, 3016 GM Rotterdam, on the southern bank of the Nieuwe Maas river in the Kop van Zuid area. Built in 1960 as Europe's highest lookout tower at the time, it offers panoramic city views from 100 metres up via elevator, with the Euroscoop pod ascending further to 185 metres; access is via tram 8 (Euromast stop), metro at Coolhaven (9-minute walk), or paid parking across the street. Nearby attractions include the SS Rotterdam ship hotel, Hotel New York, Wilhelminapier waterfront promenade, Rijnhaven harbour development, and easy walking access to Erasmus Bridge and the city centre, blending stunning vistas with maritime heritage.
