Pateniemi Sawmill Museum
Pateniemi Sawmill Museum in Oulu preserves the industrial heritage of a community shaped by timber and shipbuilding. Housed in a former 1850s warehouse, the museum stands on the historic sawmill site where a steam‑powered mill began operating in 1873, supporting much of the local population. Its exhibitions present tools, machinery and photographs that illustrate the daily work, economic importance and social life of the sawmill era.
