Chałupa Sabały in Zakopane is one of the oldest and most evocative highlander cottages in Podhale, closely tied to the legendary storyteller, musician, and folk hero Jan Krzeptowski Sabała. Standing on historic Kościeliska Street, the wooden house reflects the traditional architecture of 19th‑century mountain dwellings, with its low rooms, smoky interior, and handcrafted details that speak to everyday life in the Tatra region. Chałupa Sabały is located at Stare Krzeptówki 17 in the Krzeptówki district of Zakopane, at the top end of the Krzeptówki road leading towards the Tatra foothills. Nearby you will find the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, walking paths leading into the Valley Za Bramką, traditional wooden highlander cottages along Krzeptówki, local restaurants serving regional dishes, and easy access to the main Zakopane centre and the Krupówki promenade.
