The National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Zakopane, located in the Krzeptówki district, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Podhale region. Built as a gesture of gratitude for the survival of Pope John Paul II after the 1981 assassination attempt, the church was consecrated in 1992 and quickly became a spiritual landmark for both locals and visitors. Its architecture blends modern forms with traditional highlander elements, creating a warm and harmonious interior filled with wood, light, and symbolic decoration. The main altar features a revered statue of Our Lady of Fatima, gifted by the sanctuary in Portugal, which draws pilgrims throughout the year. Surrounding the church is a peaceful garden with devotional paths and monuments commemorating the Pope’s deep connection to the Tatras. The shrine remains an active centre of prayer, reflection, and community life, offering a serene refuge amid Zakopane’s lively atmosphere.

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Zakopane is located at Osiedle Krzeptówki 14, in the Krzeptówki district about 2.5 km south‑west of the town centre, on Krzeptówki Street. It sits near the Chałupa Sabały shepherd’s hut, traditional wooden chapels and guesthouses along Krzeptówki, with views toward the Tatra Massif, and is within reach of local restaurants and cafés in the Krzeptówki–Antałówka area, as well as the main Zakopane centre and the Krupówki promenade a short bus or taxi ride away.
