The Władysław Hasior Gallery in Zakopane is a striking and unconventional art space dedicated to one of Poland’s most original contemporary artists. Housed in a 1935 wooden building once belonging to the “Warszawianka” sanatorium, the gallery was adapted in the 1980s into a multi‑level interior that Hasior himself helped shape. The space reflects his creative spirit, filled with banners, sculptural assemblages, collages, and objects transformed from everyday materials into symbolic, often provocative works. Hasior’s art blends surrealism, folk motifs, and bold experimentation, encouraging viewers to reflect on modern society and human experience. The gallery served as his studio and meeting place during his lifetime, and today it remains a dynamic branch of the Tatra Museum, preserving the atmosphere of an artist who left a lasting mark on Polish visual culture.

Władysław Hasior Gallery is located at ul. Jagiellońska 18b in the centre of Zakopane, a short walk from the main Krupówki promenade and the town’s core cultural and shopping area. Nearby you will find the Tatra Museum, the Oscypek Museum, local restaurants and cafés along Jagiellońska and nearby side streets, as well as bus stops and parking areas that provide easy access to central Zakopane and the surrounding Tatra slopes.
