Highlights include Cold War-era jets, World War I replicas like the Fokker Dr.I, and exhibits on the Berlin Airlift. Hangars 3 and 7 explore aerial warfare and the post-war Luftwaffe, while the tower building presents personal stories and documents from military life. The museum is situated on the site of the former RAF Gatow airfield in the Berlin district of Gatow. It is a significant historical site focusing on military aviation history from 1884 to the present, including aircraft from both World Wars and Cold War eras. Nearby, visitors can explore the historic Gatow airfield surroundings, which contribute to the authentic experience of the museum. The museum is accessible via public transport, including a bus from Rathaus Spandau, which makes it reachable from central Berlin within about an hour.
