The Humboldt Forum is located at Schloßplatz 7, 10178 Berlin, within the reconstructed Berlin Palace on Museum Island in the historic center of the city. Named after the Prussian scholars Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt, it serves as a cultural institution dedicated to human history, art, and science1. The museum houses the non-European collections of the Berlin State Museums, alongside temporary exhibitions and public events. Considered the German equivalent of the British Museum, it opened digitally in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and became accessible to the public in July 20211. With 1.7 million visitors in 2023, it is Germany’s most visited museum and ranks among the top museums worldwide. The Humboldt Forum integrates the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art, continuing the legacy of Berlin’s historical collections1.
