The building combines a baroque-style exterior, replicating the original 18th-century palace, with a modern interior designed for exhibitions and events. Named after the famous German scholars Alexander and Wilhelm von Humboldt, the forum hosts collections from the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art, as well as rotating exhibitions, lectures, and performances.
