The Museum Judengasse, part of the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, is located at Battonnstraße 47 near Börneplatz in Frankfurt’s city center. Built upon the excavated foundations of five 15th-century houses from the original Judengasse—the first Jewish ghetto in Europe—it preserves and interprets the traces of Jewish life from the Middle Ages to the early 19th century. The museum emerged after the 1987 Börneplatz excavations uncovered the remains of 19 homes, leading to a public campaign to preserve them; five were reconstructed on site and became the museum’s core. Reopened in 2016 with a redesigned exhibition, it tells the story of a once-thriving community of over 3,000 residents through archaeological remains, documents, and multimedia. The museum stands beside the Old Jewish Cemetery and the Börneplatz Memorial, forming a moving trio that connects Jewish heritage, memory, and modern reflection in the heart of Frankfurt.​
