The Church of St. Anne is one of Kraków’s finest Baroque masterpieces, admired for its harmonious proportions and richly decorated interior. Rebuilt in the late 17th century on the site of an earlier Gothic church, it was designed by the renowned architect Tylman van Gameren, whose vision brought Italian‑inspired elegance to the heart of the city. The façade, with its sculptural details and balanced composition, leads into a luminous interior filled with stucco ornamentation, marble altars, and expressive frescoes that create a sense of grandeur without overwhelming the visitor. As the academic church of the Jagiellonian University, St. Anne’s has long been a place where faith and scholarship meet, hosting important ceremonies and student traditions.
