About

The Eagle Pharmacy Museum in Kraków is a deeply moving place where history, memory, and human courage come together. Located on the edge of the former Kraków Ghetto in Podgórze, the pharmacy was operated during the Second World War by Tadeusz Pankiewicz, the only non‑Jewish pharmacist allowed to remain in the ghetto. Today, the preserved interiors and carefully curated exhibits tell the story of his quiet heroism and the daily struggles of the Jewish community confined within the ghetto walls. Original furnishings, photographs, personal testimonies, and wartime artifacts recreate the atmosphere of a place that became a refuge, meeting point, and lifeline for many. The museum highlights acts of solidarity, resistance, and compassion, offering an intimate perspective on one of the darkest chapters in Kraków’s history.
