The Church of St. Peter and Paul is one of Kraków’s most striking Baroque landmarks, standing proudly on Grodzka Street along the historic Royal Route. Completed in the early 17th century by the Jesuit order, it was the first fully Baroque church in Poland, designed to impress with its grand façade inspired by Roman architecture. The exterior is marked by statues of the Twelve Apostles, creating a dramatic entrance that leads into a spacious, elegantly proportioned interior. Inside, visitors find a harmonious blend of marble, stucco, and classical ornamentation, along with an impressive dome that fills the nave with natural light. The church is also known for its excellent acoustics, making it a popular venue for classical concerts. With its architectural purity and cultural vitality, St. Peter and Paul remains a defining monument of Kraków’s sacred landscape.
