The Botanical Garden of the Jagiellonian University is one of Kraków’s most serene and historic green spaces. Founded in 1783, it is the oldest botanical garden in Poland and remains an active center for research, conservation, and education. The Jagiellonian University Botanical Garden is located at 27 Kopernika Street in the Grzegórzki district of Kraków, just east of the Old Town and close to Rondo Mogilskie. This central position places it around a 10–15 minute walk from the Main Market Square, the Kraków Główny railway station and the surrounding Planty gardens that encircle the historic centre. Nearby you will also find the Kraków Opera and the Kraków Philharmonic venues, as well as university buildings such as the Jagiellonian University’s Śniadecki College and the Cracow University of Economics campus, making the garden a peaceful green enclave amid key cultural and academic sites.
