Saint Paul’s Cathedral is one of Liège’s most emblematic landmarks, rising in the heart of the city with an elegant Gothic silhouette shaped over centuries. Founded as a collegiate church in the 10th century, it was largely rebuilt between the 13th and 15th centuries, giving the building its soaring nave, refined stonework, and luminous stained‑glass windows. After the destruction of Saint Lambert’s Cathedral during the French Revolution, Saint Paul’s was elevated to cathedral status in the 19th century, a period that also saw major restorations and the completion of its tower. Inside, the cathedral houses an exceptional treasury, including medieval artworks and Mosan masterpieces that reflect the region’s rich artistic heritage.
