Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is a striking Baroque landmark in the historic Hors‑Château district of Liège, originally built in the mid‑17th century as the church of the Discalced Carmelites. Its tall, sculpted façade, adorned with the coat of arms of Prince‑Bishop Maximilian‑Henri of Bavaria, reflects the grandeur of the period and remains one of the most elegant examples of Baroque architecture in the city. Over time, the church became associated with several religious communities, including the Redemptorists, which contributed to its rich spiritual heritage. While the façade has been carefully restored, the interior—once known for its ornate decoration—remains closed to the public, adding an air of mystery to the site.
