The National Museum in Gdańsk is housed in a former late‑Gothic Franciscan monastery at 1 Toruńska Street, a short walk south of the Main Town and the Motława riverfront. It sits close to the historic city fortifications and bastions, near the St Gertrude Bastion and within easy reach of Gdańsk Główny railway station, Długi Targ, Artus Court, the Golden Gate and other Old Town landmarks, all of which can be reached on foot in several minutes through the surrounding historic streets.
