Oliwa Park

Oliwa Park
About

Oliwa Park is one of Gdańsk’s most enchanting green spaces, a peaceful retreat shaped by centuries of monastic care and later transformed into a refined landscape garden. Once part of the Cistercian abbey, the park blends formal French‑style avenues with romantic English‑inspired paths, creating a harmonious setting where symmetry meets natural charm. Its most famous feature is the long, tree‑lined alley that frames a perfect perspective toward the Oliwa Cathedral, adding a sense of quiet grandeur. Visitors can wander past ponds, sculpted hedges, and shaded walkways, discovering hidden corners that change beautifully with the seasons. The modern Palm House and botanical collections add a touch of exotic colour, while the gentle sound of water from streams and fountains enhances the park’s calming atmosphere. Oliwa Park remains a favourite place for leisurely strolls, reflection, and escaping the city’s pace, offering a timeless blend of history, nature, and elegance.
