Artus Court in Gdańsk is one of the city’s most iconic historic buildings, standing proudly along the Royal Route in the heart of the Old Town. Once a meeting place for merchants, nobles, and influential guilds, it symbolised the wealth and cosmopolitan spirit of the Hanseatic city. Its richly decorated façade leads into an equally impressive interior, where soaring ceilings, ornate woodwork, and grand sculptures create an atmosphere of prestige and ceremony. The Great Hall, the highlight of the building, showcases an extraordinary collection of artworks, historical artefacts, and one of the tallest tiled stoves in Europe. Today, Artus Court forms part of the Museum of Gdańsk, offering visitors a vivid glimpse into the city’s social and commercial life during its golden age. It remains a striking testament to Gdańsk’s maritime heritage and cultural sophistication.

Artus Court is located at Długi Targ 43–44 in the very centre of Gdańsk’s Main Town, directly on the Royal Route between the Golden Gate and the Green Gate. It stands immediately behind the Neptune Fountain and next to the Main Town Hall, with St Mary’s Basilica, Długi Targ, the Motława riverfront, the Green Bridge and the surrounding colourful merchant houses of the Old Town all just a short walk away.
