The Church of the Holy Spirit is one of Lublin’s most historically significant temples, standing at the threshold of the Old Town and welcoming travellers for centuries. Founded in the early 15th century alongside a hospital for the poor and pilgrims, it served as a key charitable institution on the busy route linking Kraków, Lublin, and Vilnius. Rebuilt after fires and expanded over time, the church combines Gothic foundations with later Baroque elements, creating a modest yet harmonious interior marked by vaulted ceilings, classic altars, and a serene atmosphere. Its location by Krakowskie Przedmieście made it a focal point of civic and religious life, especially during major processions and fairs. The Church of the Holy Spirit is located at Krakowskie Przedmieście 1, 20-002 Lublin, Poland, just outside the Old Town walls next to the New City Hall in the vibrant New Town area. Built in 1419 originally as part of a hospital for the poor and sick, this Gothic-Renaissance landmark features a Baroque dome, stucco interiors, and the revered icon of Our Lady of Good Counsel.
