The Basilica of St. Stanislaus, also known as the Church of the Holy Trinity, is one of Lublin’s oldest and most revered sacred sites, forming the heart of the former Dominican monastery founded in the 13th century. Rebuilt and expanded over the centuries, it blends Gothic origins with Baroque splendour, creating an interior rich in chapels, altars, and historic tombs. The basilica is closely linked to the legendary relic of the Holy Cross, once a major pilgrimage attraction that shaped the city’s medieval identity. Its vast monastery complex played an important role in religious, cultural, and intellectual life, hosting gatherings of the nobility and safeguarding valuable archives. Today the basilica remains an active place of worship and a key landmark of Lublin’s Old Town, admired for its architectural harmony and deep historical resonance.

The Basilica of St. Stanislaus, also known as the Basilica of St. Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr, is located at Złota 9 in Lublin's Old Town, on the Dominican Hillock in the southeastern part of the historic hill, with the adjacent Dominican Monastery extending southwards. Founded in 1342 by Casimir the Great, this Gothic-Baroque landmark features chapels tied to relics of the True Cross and hosted the 1569 Union of Lublin thanksgiving service. Nearby, visitors find the bustling Old Town with Market Square's colorful tenements, Lublin Castle and Donjon tower uphill, Po Farze Square's ruins, Crown Tribunal, Grodzka Gate to the Jewish Quarter, and atmospheric cafes along Dominikańska and Złota streets, all within a compact heritage zone.
