The Lublin Underground Route is a unique tourist trail running beneath the Old Town, created by linking centuries‑old cellars into a single, atmospheric passageway. Stretching for nearly 300 metres, it leads visitors under the Market Square and historic tenement houses, offering a journey through the city’s past from the early Middle Ages to the 18th century. Along the route, illuminated models and installations illustrate Lublin’s development, including detailed panoramas and reconstructions of key historical moments. The highlight is the dramatic moving model of the Great Fire of 1719, enhanced with light and sound effects that bring the event vividly to life. Beginning at the Crown Tribunal and ending at the former site of St. Michael’s Church, the trail symbolically connects the city’s secular and religious centres. Immersive and educational, the Lublin Underground Route reveals a hidden layer of the city’s history beneath its bustling streets.

Lublin Underground Route starts at the historic Crown Tribunal on Plac Peronowa in Lublin's Old Town Market Square, Poland, spanning nearly 300 meters through connected 16th-century cellars beneath Renaissance tenements. This guided multimedia trail showcases city development models from medieval times to the 1719 Great Fire, with light shows, legends like the Devil's paw, and lapidarium artifacts, ending near St. Michael Archangel church ruins.
