Park Ludowy is one of Lublin’s largest green areas, created in the 1950s on the wetlands along the Bystrzyca River as a vast recreational space for the growing post‑war city. Designed with broad axes, open lawns, and clusters of trees, it quickly became a popular destination for walks, concerts, and family outings, famously featuring a seasonal café inside a retired aircraft. Over time the park suffered from flooding, neglect, and industrial impact, leading to a gradual decline. In recent years, however, extensive revitalisation has restored its natural landscape, improved water management, and introduced new paths, plantings, and educational features. Today Park Ludowy offers a blend of open meadows, shaded avenues, and ecological zones, serving as a welcoming space for relaxation, sport, and community events near Lublin’s modern sports and transport facilities.

Park Ludowy is located in central Lublin's Za Cukrownią district along the Bystrzyca River valley, bordered by Aleja Józefa Piłsudskiego to the east, ul. Lubelskiego Lipca 80 to the south, ul. Stadionowa to the west, and the river to the north, covering about 23 hectares. This post-WWII park underwent recent revitalization, enhancing its green spaces, paths, and ecological corridor status for recreation and events. Nearby sit major sports venues including Arena Lublin football stadium, MOSiR multi-sport complex with speedway track and athletics facilities, and Aqua Lublin aquapark with pools; the International Lublin Trade Fairs (Targi Lublin) halls occupy the southeastern edge, with the planned Integrated Transport Hub featuring main PKP railway and PKS bus stations close by for easy city access.
