Izba Drukarstwa in Lublin is an intimate and atmospheric museum dedicated to the city’s rich printing heritage, located in the historic building of the former “Popularna” printing house on Żmigród Street. As part of Dom Słów and the Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre Centre, it preserves traditional printing techniques and showcases original machines, tools and typesetting equipment once used by local printers. Visitors can explore reconstructed workspaces of a typographer, printer and bookbinder, gaining insight into the craft that shaped Lublin’s literary and cultural life. Exhibitions highlight both the history of the printing trade and the role of the written word in society, including stories of underground publishing during the communist era. With its blend of authentic machinery, archival materials and hands‑on demonstrations, Izba Drukarstwa offers a vivid encounter with the world of print and the power of the written word.

Izba Drukarstwa, also known as the Chamber of Printing or House of Words (Dom Słów), is located at Żmigród 1 in Lublin's Old Town, Poland. Housed in a historic building once occupied by the "Popularna" printing house, it operates under the Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre Centre and showcases typography history with vintage presses, typesetting demos, and exhibits on underground publishing from 1976-1989.
