Brama Grodzka, known historically as the Jewish Gate, is one of Lublin’s most evocative landmarks, marking the former boundary between the Christian Old Town and the once‑vibrant Jewish quarter. Originating in the medieval fortifications, it served as a key passage through the city walls before being rebuilt in the 18th century in a classicist style under the reign of King Stanislaus II Augustus. Its later history reflects the city’s shifting cultural landscape, from periods of decline to post‑war restoration. Today the gate houses the Brama Grodzka – Teatr NN Centre, a cultural institution dedicated to preserving the memory of Lublin’s multicultural past, especially its Jewish heritage. Through exhibitions, archival projects, and educational programmes, the site has become a powerful symbol of remembrance and dialogue, linking the city’s layered history with its contemporary cultural life.

Brama Grodzka, known as the Grodzka Gate or Jewish Gate, is located at ul. Grodzka 21, 20-112 Lublin, Poland, at the southern tip of the Old Town hill serving as a historic passage between the Christian Old Town and the former Jewish Quarter below. This 14th-century fortified gate rebuilt in the 18th century now houses the Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre Centre dedicated to Lublin's multicultural heritage. Just uphill lies Lublin Castle with its Donjon tower and Trinity Chapel, Crown Tribunal, Market Square's Renaissance tenements, Po Farze Square ruins, Basilica of St. Stanislaus, and Archcathedral of St. John amid cobblestone streets filled with cafes and galleries leading to Kraków Gate.
