Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre is one of Lublin’s most meaningful cultural landmarks, located in the historic gate that once connected the Christian and Jewish quarters of the city. Today it serves as a centre dedicated to memory, heritage and education, shaped by the mission of preserving the stories of Lublin’s multicultural past. Founded in the 1990s by a group of theatre enthusiasts who revitalised the then‑ruined gate, the institution has grown into a dynamic space combining archival work, exhibitions and artistic projects. Its permanent displays explore the vanished Jewish district, wartime destruction and the everyday life of pre‑war Lublin through photographs, documents, testimonies and multimedia installations. The centre also runs literary and cultural programmes, festivals and guided tours that deepen understanding of the city’s identity.
