Located in Prague’s Smíchov district, the Futura Centre for Contemporary Art is a non-profit institution dedicated to showcasing Czech and international contemporary art. Housed in a three-floor former factory with over 1,000 square meters of exhibition space, Futura hosts large-scale solo and group exhibitions featuring renowned artists such as Marina Abramović, Lawrence Weiner, and Carsten Nicolai. Since its founding in 2003, the center has become a vital platform for experimental and multidisciplinary art, including painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Futura also operates an artist-in-residence program and manages a satellite venue at the Renaissance Château in Třebešice near Kutná Hora, fostering cross-cultural exchange and creative dialogue. Though temporarily closed, the Prague venue remains a landmark of independent artistic expression, known for its provocative programming and commitment to pushing boundaries. With its international collaborations and bold curatorial vision, Futura continues to shape the contemporary art landscape in the Czech Republic and beyond.

Futura Centre for Contemporary Art is located at Holečkova 49 in Prague’s Smíchov district, set within a reconstructed former factory that retains its industrial character. This three-floor, 1,000-square-meter space is one of Prague’s largest non-profit venues for contemporary art, presenting innovative exhibitions by both Czech and international artists since 2003. The gallery is known for its experimental approach, hosting painting, sculpture, video, installations, and performance art, with highlights such as the permanent outdoor installation "Brownnosers" by David Černý in the courtyard.
