Petřín Gardens, known locally as Petřínské sady, are located on the slopes of Petřín Hill in the Malá Strana district, with the main entrance at Petřínské sady 118 00, Praha 1. This expansive green oasis rises above the left bank of the Vltava River and is the largest park area in central Prague, offering a peaceful escape with lush lawns, orchards, and panoramic city views. The gardens are a collection of several distinct areas, including the Rose Garden, Seminary Garden, Kinsky Garden, and Lobkowicz Garden, each with its own character and scenic vistas. Petřín Gardens are home to some of Prague’s most beloved attractions: the iconic Petřín Lookout Tower, which resembles a miniature Eiffel Tower; the historic Hunger Wall, built in the 14th century; the playful Mirror Maze; Štefánik Observatory; and the wooden Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The gardens are easily accessed via the Petřín funicular from Újezd, connecting the lower city to the hilltop, or by tram to Újezd stop. Nearby, visitors can explore Strahov Monastery, Prague Castle, and the charming streets of Malá Strana, making Petřín Gardens a favorite spot for romantic walks, family outings, and some of the best views in Prague.
